Fiberglass grating, with its unique structural design, can evenly distribute loads and ensure that the trench cover equipment and its supporting structure are evenly stressed, making it widely used in various engineering projects. However, the loading and unloading process must strictly follow regulations to ensure product quality and personnel safety.
1、 Core points of lifting operation
When lifting fiberglass grating panels, it is strictly prohibited to use twisted square steel or flat steel as lifting points. Due to its structural characteristics, this erroneous operation can easily lead to excessive local stress on the grille panel, causing structural damage. The correct approach is to use the bottom of the packaging as the lifting position, utilizing the overall force characteristics of the packaging to disperse the lifting pressure and avoid the grid plate directly bearing concentrated loads.
2、 Selection and protection of loading and unloading tools
In the selection of loading and unloading tools, it is recommended to prioritize the use of nylon lifting straps. Nylon lifting straps have a soft texture and a large contact area with the grille, which can effectively reduce friction and compression during loading and unloading. If steel wire rope is used for lifting, additional protective measures must be taken by wrapping the edge flat steel of the grating plate with soft materials (such as rubber pads, cotton cloth) to prevent the rigid compression of the steel wire rope from causing deformation or damage to the outer side of the grating plate.
When using a forklift for loading and unloading, the operator needs to accurately control the position and force of the fork teeth to avoid serious impact (shock) on the outer flat steel of the steel grating. When operating a forklift, it should be operated slowly and steadily to maintain the stability of the grille during transportation and prevent damage to the product due to severe vibration or collision.
3、 Product characteristics and loading/unloading correlation
Fiberglass grating is made by interweaving and weaving glass fibers, casting resin, and then molding them as a whole. This process endows the product with unique mechanical properties. Carrying flat steel and edge wrapped flat steel only have high strength in the height direction (perpendicular to the plane of the steel grating). If unreasonable external forces are applied laterally, it is highly likely to cause deformation or damage. Therefore, during the loading and unloading process, it is necessary to always keep the plane of the grating parallel to the ground to avoid lateral forces.
In addition, the concave surface design of the fiberglass grating provides basic anti slip performance, and the anti slip effect is better after sanding treatment; The full penetration of glass fiber and resin gives it excellent corrosion resistance; The glossy surface and italic grid surface achieve self-cleaning function. Although these characteristics do not directly affect loading and unloading operations, special attention should be paid to protection during loading and unloading to avoid damaging the surface structure of the product due to improper operation, which may affect subsequent performance.
4、 Packaging and unloading specifications
When the fiberglass grating board leaves the factory, there will be wooden blocks under the packaging, which will be fastened with twisted square steel and fasteners. This packaging design is convenient for forklift loading and unloading. When unloading, it is also necessary to follow the above loading and unloading principles and handle with care. At the same time, it is necessary to check whether the packaging is complete. If loose packaging or abnormal appearance of the grille is found, the operation should be stopped immediately and the product should be thoroughly inspected to ensure that the product quality is not affected.
